Hard to engage reverse.

My '93 850 is a little sticky going into reverse also, though it does have a synchro and sometimes while rolling forward, with clutch fully depressed it will slip right into reverse. Other times, grinds a bit. I use Amsoil trans fluid. When I changed it 3.5 years ago when I bought the car, I noticed an immediate difference in smoothness of gear change. Even in very cold winter temps, it shifts smoothly and easily. I highly recommend it.
