I noticed in using the search function here that there has not been a recent evaluation of IPD, so I wanted to share my recent positive experience. Let me preface by saying I am a low post count newb and have only owned my 1st Volvo for 3 months.
Based on the pure wealth of knowledge here at MVS, I joined up and started lurking here after buying the car. Had an issue a couple weeks ago with my alternator pulley wheel coming off (!), and since the car was parked pending a fix, I decided to do a few things like change oil & filters, new plugs, new belt, rear brakes & parking brake pads while I was messing with it. Since IPD is a sponsor here, I added them to my online shopping research.
Their website ipdusa.com is very intuitive and very helpful, and presents an image of people who know a heck of a lot more about Volvo's than I do yet are willing to help out new owners like me. It seems like I would have to try very hard to order an incorrect part for my '05 V70, as they make it very obvious which parts will and won't fit. I imagine this not only helps customers but cuts down on returns as well.
Anyway, I ended up taking advantage of their sale and ordered plugs, belt, oil filter kit (tool & 3x filter deal), and some brake hardware. Their charcoal cabin filter was priced very competitively, so I added that too. Due to some stock level questions, I ended up talking to them on the phone twice before the order shipped, and although I did not get the guy's name, he was extremely helpful and patient with my questions. They ended up splitting my order to get me the top priority stuff immediately, and then ship the out of stock items a couple days later. I needed the belt, plugs, and oil change kit by Saturday, and everything showed up on Friday. Parts were in perfect condition, and labeled correctly.
Overall, a positive and cost-effective experience in shopping with IPD, and even though I am in NC, would still order from them again. Highly recommended customer service, powerful website tool, and quality parts.
