I was there... for about 8 years. Then I disabled them. Sorry, no category, and it's not possible to add one without zero-ing out the collected votes. I'd abstain or vote the "No..." selection.

I fix the motors so they work and park. I have yet to do it on my 98 as I have not been bored enough to strip the bumper off so I can take the core support off for motor access. One day when that occurs I'll have consistent operation.
Inside the case is another one of those PTC resistors. Usually they can be sanded and contacts cleaned and it will work again. I'm down south where ice and snow shouldn't be a worry so I may leave the PTC's out.

I know the process of removing the front bumper cover so well, so that i could do that in complate dark. Why - because of the headlight wippers. I'm not given up, yet. But yet...

Is there a thread about repairing these ? I may give it a try on this recent S70 I got after I get the engine swap done and it on the road . I also have a parts car that may have fixable motors and I'll be harvesting all the parts I can from it .
I'm assuming all wiper parts are OEM from the dealer ?

They ALL will go bad and the motors and labor to replace them is just too expensive in relation to what these cars are worth.
Even one went bad on my 2000 V70R with 35K miles!!!!
Unplug it and go on with your life

Never a prob;em, other than refill blades. Any chance those living where it snows are seeing damage from Ice and Snow? Down here in Texas, Deer can cause them to be non-functional, but then, they have the ability of making the entire car no longer functional !

Here in Arizona the headlight wipers are just not needed, the heat kills them and they sick to the glass lens. They were working when I purchased the car a year ago (114000miles) on the odometer but were in poor condition so I removed the arms and left the motors in so when I sell I will just replace the arms, in snow country they would be needed.

I don't see wipers on any new models of any brand these days. I think it was a 90s thing that held on into the 2000s.
Maybe someone reading knows: do the mid- and high-end cars have high pressure/heated spray nozzles? Or is the concept of cleaning headlights simply gone?
