asimba2's 850 Turbo thread
Re: asimba2's 850 Turbo thread
Please post what you find out about the engine. Mine has 145,000 on it and I haven't touched it in the short time I've owned it. Not sure about the previous owner. I received some good information on where to start maintenance wise from Jim on this site and look forward to getting started. Keep us posted.

I am glad to know your car is fine! I would have felt really bad buying it from you and finding out it was only the Heater Hose.asimba2 wrote:Found the culprit, the coolant hose that goes from the back of the engine to the heater core blew. Why the temperature gauge never went up from the normal position, I will never know.

Sold the car a couple of weeks ago and it went to a good home. The new owner has another engine he's putting in. He said the head had a huge crack in it around two of the valves.
Thanks for all of the help...this car would have cost me far more without you guys.

Good news. That car was in *outstanding* condition thanks to you, apart from the head failure.asimba2 wrote:Sold the car a couple of weeks ago and it went to a good home.

This is why I stress changing ALL coolant hoses on these old cars - with aluminum heads, they are very prone to death by overheating.
