Hi have recently brought a 1997 p reg v40
it brakes fine but the abs light is constantly on does anyone know how i can turn this off

You have a problem with your ABS. There is an electronic control unit, 4 wheel sensors and other bits and pieces which are all potential culprits.

There should be a diagnostic unit from which fault codes can be read and this would then indicate the problem.

In the meantime your brakes will work but not with ABS.

I think you are from the UK, as am I. You will fail the MOT test with the light on!
