Post by ERO1 »

Hi all,
I live in Virginia and was driving my grandson to Jupiter, Fl when I developed a crack in my radiator. If anyone in the Jupiter area can help or at least point me in the right direction to someone who won't gouge me I would appreciate it.

i had the same problem about a month ago on my 1998 v90 (huge crack under the upper hose). i was out of town at the time. i ordered a replacement from voluparts in ATL and they overnighted it to the motel where i was staying for about $20. i think the total cost was about $160. i swapped it out in a burger king parking lot in about an hour with minimal tools. good luck!

I was not able to do this repair myself without help and my help was 1000 miles away...lol However, I did find a shop called Jupiter Auto and Tire who did the repair right away for what I thought was fairly reasonable. I had priced the parts on FCP Groton , radiator, hoses , thermostat, hose clamp kits for the cooling lines etc.about 300.00 and the shop charged 253.00 in labor + tax....total about 600.00. A lot of money, yes, but not as bad as a dealer or some other shops that I called. Anyway I made it home!
Now my AC compressor crapped! Did the bread clip fix, worked perfect until I got home....could have something to do with hot antifreeze pumping out all over it...???? I know the clearance was fine, but it appears that the bearings froze up...anyway...That's my story for now...
