2000 v70 xc -shudder/clunk when accelerating from 50-55mph

Post by fender0201 »

Before I replaced the speed sensor (I had a Check Engine light on) and was getting 3 codes, after doing some reading, and thinking, I came on here and did a search for the three codes I was getting, and everything pointed to the speed sensor. Before I replaced the speed sensor, I was getting a hard shuddering-type feeling (seemingly coming from the rear end). Since I've replaced the Speed Sensor, the check engine light is off, and the extreme power loss I had is gone, but when i'm accelerating from 50-55mph, it has lightened up a bit, but it's still shuddering/giving a light clunk. Also, it seems to be worse when going uphill and accelerating from 50 to 55mph. Thanks in advance for any help/ideas as to what may be causing this.

My 98 V70 AWD started doing this same shudder clunk thing. The propshaft was bad and after it was removed the shudder clunk stopped. I'd check that first. Easy to remove, don't pay more than $50.00 to have someone take it out for you.
