how do I replace the right front parking light bulb on a 1996 volvo 960?

If it is anything like my 1997, open the hood and look behind you will see a plastic spring type clip holding the lamp to the headlight, press it together and the light should slide out, it might be possible to access the bulb from behind too, it is hard sometimes to turn the socket because of the tight place, at least for my hands.

thanks for the information - that sounds like the headlight - the light i'm referring to is below the headlights in the front bumper. I can drop the whole unit down... there is a round plastic piece that is fastened with a phillips head screw i took that off and still didn't see the bulb

any other thoughts?

to replace the fog light bulb, remove the screw and the cover from the bottom of the light, there is a spring clip that secures the light in the socket, just push on it a little and it will swing out, pull the bulb out and the wire connector. Hope this helps

that makes sense... I was right there just didn't push on it - I'll give it a shot in the next dew days... thanks. how you like your 97 960? I have had mine for 2 weeks... 220k - runs good - but has a few issues...
