Ready to give up on my S80 PART 3

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

Ready to give up on my S80 PART 3

Post by renzo86 »

Hello Volvo brothers! :)

After a long battle between the million codes my S80 has and my wallet, I decided to give up and let my dad keep my S80 since I know there are no big mechanical issues. I'm pretty sure it must be something related to the wiring or ECU. Who knows?

So I decided to give Volvo a second chance and I just got a 2004 S60R. I'm crossing my fingers that everything stays as good as it is now for a very long time.

Any recommendations? Ideas? Suggestions? for the maintenance of this beauty? Let me know! The car has 75K miles. It was love at first sight..

cool dude! I am just waiting for a nice s60/v70 R manual to show up on craigslist.

Nothing beats the smoothness of the I6 though it's quite a nice engine =)

Man... Is it me? Or Volvos don't like me?

Unfortunately, I found out that the tranny on my S60R has the stop/neutral feature. I could tell quickly by the way the downshifting feels and how the RPM's drastically drop and the clunking noise I hear when I shift from park to drive and so on (it is an automatic tranny).

I'm extremely frustrated. I got the car from a Lexus dealer. Yesterday was the third time taking the car back to them so they can take it to a Volvo dealership to see what they can do for me since I still have a 30 day warranty from them plus a 3yr/36k miles warranty I purchased at the time of signing the contract.

I got a call from them today saying they took it, they test drove it with a master technician and the car feels safe to drive but they never hooked it up to their software.

So my wife is doing the verbal fighting (you guys know how it is) and I'm doing the research online and visiting the Volvo dealers and independent shops around my area. Basically, I need to do something before the 30 days are gone!

They finally said that I can take the car anywhere I want and they will pay my deductible ($100) if it's found that the transmission needs a software update (I believe it's a patch) and a flush.

Any thoughts? Comments? Suggestions? Everything is appreciated!

Otherwise, I love my s60R. I already kicked some butt out there!!! Lol

Call Antonio. San Mateo is not far, well not that far from Walnut Creek.
