99 V90 NonTurbo won't accelerate above 5-10 mph
My wife is away on vacation with the 99 V90 wagon, Non turbo and it won't go above 5-10 mph. It used to happen every once an awhile and would correct itself. now it won't accelerate. the engine won't rev up either, while in gear. In park the engine revs fine. I did take it to get the codes checked prior to her leaving and it was some sort of speed sensor but the auto zone store did not carry the part. I'm thinking it's a speed sensor but I need a little help. I'm going to call her to see if she can get it to go in other gears so that I can get more info to post. Based on what info that I've given does anyone have a answer? Thanks

Throttle Position Sensor??? You aren't going to get this or any other major part at AutoZone. See if she can make it to a dealer.

she got in the car yesterday and it drove fine to the store and on the way home it went back into slow mode where it would not go above 20 mph. push the pedal to the floor no acceleration. having her dad take it to get codes pulled and i will repost

got the codes back. P0705 "transmission range sensor A circuit, among others. it's still going in and out of this driving range. drove fine to the auto store and the whole ride home too. I'm gonna order this part online if I can find it. Any idea where it is located?

ok. Hopefully someone will drop in on this thread. I bought the PNP and will replace. However, and I may post a new post if this does not get seen or answered here. Basically, I dont have issues with reverse lights or the up flashing arrow or any other "related" issues. Just the P0705 PNP code. My only symptom is that the car won't drive above 10 or 15 mph. It won't rev up past 2500 or so even when in neutral or park. This is the only code im getting too. Is it all related to the PNP? Seems weird that engine systems wont' work right because of this PNP switch. Anyone care to jump in?

I would be checking fuel pressure while it is acting up. PNP would make it sluggish if it goes to default mode but it will have no bearing on Neutral revving up strongly to 4000 RPM on that ETM throttled car.
When fuel pumps fail they often have symptoms like your car is exhibiting.

Looked up your code. Seems that the PNP switch sends a signal to the transmission control module only when the shifter is in P or N. Have you checked the switch adjustment?
