Hello from Ontario Canada!

Just introducing myself.

I have been interested in Volvo's for quite sometime, for reasons in order of importance; seat comfort, safety, power, and style. They seem to have it all. I am a fairly experienced mechanic, I have done clutches, motor swaps, and cylinder heads in a few different cars and trucks. I am also lucky enough to live close to a volvo nut who owns a turbocharger rebuilding modification shop (not sure if I should name the shop here?)

I am now on the cusp of a new adventure which is the possibility of purchasing a manual tranny (lucky canadians eh?) 1996 Volvo 850 turbo sedan (which I understand is essentially the same as a later model T5). The good part is I can buy the car for $500, everything works except for AC, oh and its runs intermittently. I would go into more specifics but I will save it for a post in the 850 forum.

Also I selected mathews volvo site because it seems to me from all the reading of have done while on other forums that this one is very well laid out and has excellent friendly members!

Cheers!

Welcome cdn_volvo_dude. I am new here myself. Just bought a '98 S70 about a month ago. Had my eye on a black '97 850, manual transmission, but the dude sold it under my nose even though I had an appointment with him to look at the car  So now I have an S70 :D I have a question to that, what does T5 mean? All I know is it has 5 cyl. is that what it means?
Oh, I am in London ON btw.
