He's on a MVS posting hiatus until January 1. He crossed the Politeness line.

So that is why I saw some trash talk about the owner of MVS on another site.
Of course, I was only on the other site by mistake  .

I bet whatever you saw over there pales compared to his email to me after he got word of his "MVS Vacation".

We all need a (TIME OUT) once in a while.
My brother-in-law just took a time out in your Denver Hospital last week.

Maybe 1/4 of his posts actually contributed something useful. Most of the rest were just calling someone an idiot and I had to edit/delete them entirely.

I got more than a few nasty notes...some directed at me when I hadn't even done anything. I remember one about tires or something when the site just kicked back his post (which happens pretty often)

I'm glad there aren't many trolls on this site. People on other forums turn up just to bash the heck out of the cars or argue with posters - sometimes very heatedly - just for the sake of arguing. Those kinda people annoy me and turn me away from holding an intelligent conversation with or the site as a whole.

God forbid you read some of the comments on news articles - I don't even bother to read the 600+ comments that spring up on political issues here in the Washington area.

I guess this forum is mostly just for people that want help with their older Volvo, which is probably why I like it. We don't have (many) people that show up just to say they're terrible cars or about how they're slower than a Mustang or Camaro.

One of the most annoying things I read is people bashing Cruzes for not getting the gas mileage of a Prius or having quality control problems with something as stupid as wind noise or a rattle that somehow makes the entire thing a TERRIBLE CAR - these are issues any manufacturer deals with.

Then there are some genuinely smart people too both here and there that I enjoy conversing with. Those are the people that make or break an internet forum.

I've gotten a pretty thick skin in my 12 years of internet forum use. But JRL is way, way out of bounds on many of his posts, for me, for newbs, for anyone. I don't know how he manages to sell cars in real life.
