Is 94' 850 Starter Going Bad?

Post by pwgus »

I have a 94' 2.4L 850 I just bought for the low low price of 880. Anyways, it will only have cost me 1200 by the time I'm finished making perfect. Anyways, I think the starter is going bad. 2/3 of time it turns right over and is perfect. But the rest of the time, I turn the key and I dont even hear it cranking or I don't even hear a click. I then turn everything off and wait about 5 seconds and try again. Usually it turns right over. But a couple of times it has done this 4 or 5 times before turning over. My experience would say something is wrong with the starter. Anyways, please let me know what you all think. Also, if it is the starter, how hard is that to change...I've only had the car I week so this will be the first work I have to do on the car. I think I read its on the front and you just take off the radiator fan and shroud.
