It's not that hard...VADIS actually says to take the door panel out but I really don't think that's necessary (earlier S70 instructions say the same thing and you don't have to). Just pry up (bone tool or butter knife wrapped with duct tape so you don't damage the fake leather around the actuator) on the actuator by doing the front first and then the rear (there's a connector butted on the rear). Carefully lift and wiggle out the connector and exchange it with a new one. After you attach all the connectors to the new one, you'll need the dealer to activate the new one with a software download. If it looks like you really do have to take the door panel out, post back and I'll try to give you a diagram and instructions. Otherwise I'm running late to meet a friend so can't do it right now.

Dear MadeInJapan or other Member;I'm a newbie so pardon me if I'm posting in the wrong spot. I'm trying to replace a right rear door actuator in a S80/2004. It screeches and doesn't work all the time.
So, I've figured out how to remove the panel. I know how to remove the 3 screws to remove the actuator and also to remove the power. What I don't know is how the external door handle is linked to the actuator. Somebody said that I had to remove the external door handle, but if I did I wouldn' t know how to connect the linkage (rod) to the actuator.
Does anybody have a picture or instructions on how to do this? And, I've heard of Vadis, it seems it won't work on my Windows 7, so haven't got it. But if one of you have a schematic or instructions from Volvo on how to remove the linkage(rod) to the actuator and reconnect it with the new actuator, I would be most pleased.
Thanks in advance
