Subs, or Bass Shakers?
I currently have sub woofers, 2 10's in my truck, pf my 850 sedan, I like the sound however, I dont like the room they take up, or sliding around that occurs. I was wondering if anyone has bass shakers. I am thinking about getting 2 under my front seats, and i would wire them with my rear door speakers if possible. I dont think i would need an amp, Also, what size is the rear speaker doors? or which ones will fit the cones that they have stock, I currently have oversized ones, they dont fit in the cones, and i don thave speaker grills. Thanks!

Get rid of the subs and get an infinity basslink or something small like that.
You don't want bass shakers.

Ive got the Infinity Basslink and love it! Think i might mount it in the spare tire well someday. It fits nicely in the extra space to the side of the trunk, but i carry a bunch of stuff for work at times and the spare well is such wasted space for me. I can take pics of it if interested

I've got one 10" in a properly built sealed box, i.e. exactly meets the sub’s air requirements. It's just an ancient Pioneer IMPP that was painted "chrome purple" many years ago, and it's driven by a little bridged 230W (160 RMS) Blaupunkt amp. I built the box to fit behind the D/S rear seat so that I can still fold down the larger passenger side rear seat if needed. The amp is tucked away in behind the carpet by the power antenna assembly. I used insulated spade connectors in the speaker wire so the box can be quickly & easily removed if ever needed. To take care of it sliding around, there's a bungee cord stretched across holding it in place.
I went through the "ear bleeding bass" phase at one point in time, now I find that my single 10" sub supplements my factory speakers well with my aftermarket Alpine head unit. It may not be all the bass you want, but it's still enough to annoy the neighbors.
I guess my $0.02 would be to downsize to something a little smaller but still performs at least as well if not better than what you’re using. I’m not a fan of those all-in-one “basslink” kind of things, I’d rather have a separate amp and sub enclosure. There's plenty of subs on the market now days that don't need much air space at all to operate efficiently.

Thanks, Lee, thats why I like the pucks, I want All of my trunk space back, not just some of it. And i would like to see pictures of the bass link in the tire well, that maybe could be an option, I just bought new rear door speakers to put my cones back in, hopefully that will give me some more too.

Do they make long or wide sub boxes rather than boxes? What do trucks use? What about pipe subs?

you could use a truck box that would fit across the back of the seats, but kills your space if you need to fold down the seats

Forget bass shakers...Complete waste of time.
And running any kind of sub off of existing speakers
powered by your HU is also an absolute non-starter.
Low frequencies require considerably more power.
And amp is an absolute, unavoidable necessity.
As for space? "Bass takes Space" - No getting around it.
But how you get that space can give you a lot of room
to move. Fiberglass is awesome for oddball shapes.
A lot of Volvo owners have knocked out really cool
sub enclosures using the space in their spare tires.
Fo many people that just want to supplement and not
overwhelm, a solid, powered sub like a Basslink works well.
The upside to a "1 piece" solution like that is the ability
to install it with quick disconnects for easy removal.
Bazookas and "tube" subs? Meh...Lousy sound, IMHO.
Whatever you use SECURE IT. If things are sliding around,
do something about it. Imagine what would happen if the
car stops fast and your sub doesn't. A flying box will kill you.
And keep in mind that you and your passengers may be in
the middle of a barrel roll when that happens!
ALWAYS SECURE YOUR SUB. Straps, screws, whatever.
( And velcro absolutely, positively Does NOT Count...)
It's pretty easy to install mounting points back there.
Whatever you choose, have fun with it and Enjoy.
