Re: Starla muffler advice

So....
I connected my HVLP paint spraying to the tailpipe with a whole lot of duct tape. This is a great way to check for leaks as it forces a lot of (low) pressurized air through the system (like a shop vac on steroids). The only leaks I found came from some cracks around the ball joint between the cat and the muffler pipe. so I cut that off and clamped on 2" to 1/7/8" adapter which is an ok (but not great) fit.

I'm definitely not leaking anything now... but it's still pretty loud.

The thing I can't explain is that I bought the muffler back in 2008, and the FCP invoice says Starla....but when I was under the car it had Bosal stamped on it. Are Starla and Bosal the same? People say the Bosal exhausts are a louder.... I guess that's that and if my inspection shop doesn't like it I'll have drop $1500 on a new volvo exhaust or drive this sucker into the river.....

I'm tire of fighting this crap. What wrong with Honda again?
