Hi all, my name is Mark and im a newbie so apologies if this is in the wrong place.
I have two problems with my car and am hoping that someone can help.
I have a 2001 Volvo V40 1834 GDI petrol.
1). The battery warning light is on (has been for 3 years now) and is cooking the battery (again).
I had the car checked over by a mate and he said it was the alternator causing the problem. So I replaced the alternator and the battery hoping that this would resolve the issue. However it didnt and the car is now an MOT failure due to this light being on I have since taken the alternator off and had it checked by a alternator specialist and they came back to me this morning and said that the alternator is fine. I am now at a loss as to what is causing the problem.
2). The engine management light is on. According to the diagnostic machine this is the post CAT lambda sensor but looking under my car it would appear to have 3 lambda sensors.
Any help on this would be of a great help as I need my car back.
Regards
Mar
