tuning a future 240 wagon

Post by jackp »

I am going to buy a 240 wagon and I think it is a '88 '89 or '90. The acceleration on these cars isn't that great. so i was going to take out the airbox and putting on the IPD performance exhaust. just wanted some input. -thanks-

cold air = more dense= more power and less mpg. If you do this you may or may not have problems starting.

Huh? You have problems starting? You have less mileage? What'd you mess up?

Jackp: It still won't be a screamer. Think high 17's if you can launch well. Volvo's SOHC heads aren't really all that great stock. I wouldn't remove the airbox entirely, I like having tight cylinder clearances, and it's not worth it for the 1 or 2 horsepower you'd get.
