xc90 2004 centre console cupholder lid

having great difficulty in opening the console lid having pressed heavily the lid is wobbling from side to side with a depth of 3 mm each side any suggestions on how to rectify this annoying problem as i belive there are coins behind the lid not letting the lid open to get access this console lid is oak varnished not alumnuim

Take it apart and look for broken or misplaced pieces. I forget how it comes apart. I think you need to pull the entire center console.
