Seems like you found a good solution. Now the question is, how well does the V70 tow the trailer—in terms of power and stability?
Is your engine n/a or turbo?
I'm wondering because my 850 na wagon has a hitch that I haven't used but am considering a setup like yours.

It tows my tent trailer amazingly! Absolutely no hiccups or issues at all. It's an AWD Turbo'd GLT.. Imagine that.. I installed the hitch on my own. Max of 700lbs. It's been very impressive.
