Volvo Repair Database Volvo Literature

Post by absolutezero273c »

I've had this sitting around for quite some time and wondered if anyone thought it was worth anything. I wrote a letter to Volvo asking about their LCP2000 that I read about in my physics book back in college. They responded by sending me a copy of their LCP2000 literature and also sent literature on their ECC project. I didn't take pictures of the entire booklet but here are a few pics. Has anyone else seen this?

I was thinking of scanning the pages in and posting but there doesn't appear to be any interest. I was surprised even the wiki page doesn't mention anything about this documentation.

I've heard about this, but never seen the literature on it. I'd think it's kinda interesting.

Ever heard of the Chrysler turbine concept car? Another one of those cool inventions that never really worked well or was practical for production, but still pretty cool.

Never heard of the Chrysler turbine project either.

I'd be really curious to see why these didn't pan out.

After reading the LCP brochure I understand why it was never intended for production. It mentioned it was a consortium of auto manufacturers trying to find as light weight materials as they could while taking into consideration the energy and resources required to make the optimal light weight parts.

As I get time I'll try to scan all this in but I probably won't have that much free time until Christmas break.

Absolutezero, this is interesting stuff. Thanks for posting. I'd be happy to host the scans here -- on their own page -- if you make them.

I was going to post about the Chrysler Turbine car, but figured it'd be a good candidate for its own topic.

Hi Matt, I'll definitely get those scanned in so you can post them. I'll let you know when I do.
