Aux: no sound

Hi,

I have recently bought a 2008/9 V50, and have a problem with the aux-input in the centre console. I have tried to attach an iphone and also other sources to play music, however only low noise/bussing sound was heard in the stereo (when volume turned quite high). I did try to adjust the input volume etc in the stereo-setup.

Could this be a blown fuse? If I need to check the cable from the centre console into the stereo - any hints on where this cable is running/easiest way to inspect it? Any advice on how to pick mid console apart, and how to take out the stereo?
