Tire size calculator

Post by matthew1 »

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalcold.html
This calculator gives various tire measurements from standard tire size specifications. It will give several dimensions for the tires listed in both fields below. The output will also show the tire specs given in the "Tires to compare" field as a percentage difference from the tire spec in the "Stock size" field. If this description sounds confusing, then just ignore it and try the calculator. You'll get the idea quick enough!

I installed my 195/60/15 tires on my new 960. The calculator indicates a 3.1% too fast result compared to 195/65/15. But with the analog speedometer you hardly notice the difference and if you're travelling at indicated speed limit, you're actual speed is actually slower.

On the other hand, this calculator shows an exact compatibility if I plus-size my rims to 17" and use 225/45 tires. Really handy..
