Hi everyone,
So, I've searched the boards and I am stumped with the issue I've found. He'res the story.
1991 740 Wagon, non turbo, California car, no crazy issues, 150K on the clock.
So, my dad passed away and we gave the car to my nephew. The brake lights weren't working, so after a couple hours of trouble shooting I finally decided to check the interweb and realized the bulb failure sensor was bad. $100 later, voila! brake lights....
Now we have a new issue. When the car is on and the headlights/taillights on, all three tail/brake lights are on. If you hit the brake pedal, they all get brighter. I haven't gotten into it in detail to what elements are burning, but it is definitely strange. The bulb failure light is on when the lights are on, but when you hit the brakes, it goes off.
I am totally confuzzled about what is going on. Any thoughts???

Really sorry to hear about your dad. Lost mine 2 years ago.
Bulb holders are a darn nuisance on these cars. Every 740/760 we owned had weird issues with brake and tailights and all of them were solved with new bulb holders. IPD Volvo can be a good source for these.
