Hi,
I have an S80 2.5T SE 2003, and it was side shunted on front alloy wheel area and fixed the bodywork, replaced with new alloy wheel etc. After this there is a noticeable lack of power. Feels like its sluggish, like wintermode is activated but the switch inside the car seems to be behaving itself. It will drive ok-ish though, but nowhere near the performance it should have. No fault codes registered on my scanner.
Wondering if its the turbo? or maybe wintermode is indeed on due to a fault elsewhere than the switch inside the cabin?
Any ideas outhere please? Can I check W mode is on or cancel it without the internal switch / how do i check a turbo fail?
Lack of Power

Hi, check the vauum hoses from the turbo controller/boost valve, trace it all the way to both turbocharger, make sure they are not cracked, glazed, or came off. make sure all hose clamps on the turbo side to the intake manifold, and to the intercooler are tight, bend and twist the couplers and see and feel for cracks, lose parts. trace all turbo lines first. check all vacuum hoses, lines leading to all turbo parts first. Check the spark plugs, next!
Next remove the battery NEGATIVE cable and let the car die for about an hour. re connect and either drive , or rev the engine, up from 3-4 k, be gentle of course. BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT THE BATERY LEAD, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE CODE FOR THE RADIO/CD. GOOD LUCK.

It was indeed a loose hose on back of engine. And needed a clip to keep it on. I wonder how good the silicon hoses are as some of the others seem a bit rough as if they are going to give up the ghost sooner or later..
