2006 volvo xc90 alarm siren did not fix it

Post by England1 »

First time poster but I have been reviewing your forums for some time and want to say thanks for all the great information!

I have a 2006 volvo xc90. The alarm system service light came on and the sunroof stopped working. Obviously after research I determined is was alarm siren module like everyone else. I then ordered a new one and installed it. Nothing changed after installing new one and resetting UEM every way I could find online. I then took it to a local volvo shop to see if it needed to be programmed to which they said they thought I got a defective module because it still would not work. I then took the module back to the dealer and had it swapped for another module thinking it was defective. I have now repeated the above process and the shop now wants to charge 300 in diagnostic fees to determine why the siren will not work. Since I cannot afford this plus whatever the repair would be I need some help! Does anyone have any idea what else could be the culprit? I currently have UEM0004, UEM0005, UEM0081 codes reading which is alarm, sunroof, and rain sensor which the shop said are the three that usually come up with alarm siren issues.
