I know, I know...just cause I'm from the South, people assume I watch it.
Truth is, I flipped past the channel yesterday to see this MASSIVE crash. Rewound about 20 times, and still couldn't believe everything that happened. Holy crap.
Anyone watch NASCAR?

I'm a diehard motorhead and I'm into all forms car racing. Since that was Talledega you know the "big one" is coming, you just never know when. My son and I always had pool for Daytona and Talledega where everyone ponied up $2.00 and you guess what lap the wreck happens on, who caused it, and how many cars get taken out.

I've been to the Las Vegas 400 many times, but never seen even 1/10 a crash as this.

I went to the Charlotte Speedway with my neighbors for a race when I was a kid. I loved it; I was so ecstatic.
Never been a huge fan (watching every race, drinking beer, and screaming when the crashes happen), but I used to watch a race for a bit every now and then with my grandpa before I went off to college and ran out of time.
But that...that looks like one of those horrific wrecks you see on TV when an ice storm comes through. Holy crap.

I don't want drivers injured but WAY COOL when a big multi car crash happens and no insurance companies or driver's license points are involved!
Watching wrecks and a race breaks out is what NASCAR was founded on.

Yep, Phoenix twice, Califoria Speedway once, 2007, about 114 degrees ambient (I'm not talking track temp). Toured Las Vegas but haven't seen a race there yet. Looks like a nice facility. I like many forms of motorsport, F1 WRC, NASCAR. I don't care for IRL so much but I used to love CART, back in the days of Jimmy Vasser, Alex Zanardi and Paul Tracy. They knew how to wheel. But I was a Dale Sr. fan ever since I saw him go straight through the dirt in the Ss, esses, well not sure how to spell the section of the track shaped like an S at Riverside CA (was a road course, now houses) but he went straight, dirt flying everywhere, kept control, awesome! My oldest son helps pit crew for a couple of jet cars (Volcano & Gravity storm), I'm trying to expand his horizons beyong game controllers / keyboards.

Winter in Montana, AKA: XCs are great!

I'm not a nascar fan.
But, it's one of those things that you should attend at least once in your life. Back in the 90's a friends uncle gave us all access passes for the weekend which at that time was Busch Grand National and Winston Cup. 200k people from all walks of life, but most of them redneck types. We saw some crazy stuff.
I only live 20 miles from MIS. Race weekends are a hassle for locals.

Never spectated solely but worked with the GLR 07 and 08 in the Truck Series in 01 (Chicago Motor Speedway) and a few times in 2007 (Daytona and Milwaukee).
No time to watch it these days. Don't have a lot of interest in watching other people race anyway. I'll usually have a few people over for the 500 but thats about it. TV doesn't really do it any justice. Especially Daytona. It's pretty amazing how much those cars move around on the track with the air, you can't tell on TV though.
Incidentally Matt we were meant to be running MIS this year in September but we backed out. Too many races too close together..
