Defeating the torque limit request on the Volvo 850 Turbo

The torque limit signal isn't a concern for rods. The engine will not readily go to full boost so quickly in lower gears as the engine speed builds more quickly with lower load of the lower gears. It does increase stress on transmission. The reason is the too easy wheel spin and the much worse torque steer. THe TCV and its function to keep torque output steady over wide engine speed range is a solution the treacherousness of explosive torque output and the tugging of the steering wheel it causes, especially on irregular pavement.

I located the wire at pin 1 of TCM, it is a short wire that goes next door to the base of ECM. I cut it and spliced a piece of 18 ga. speaker and ran that into car via the port provided by volvo. The cruise hose, and on some cars some wiring, is run through that corrugated conduit you will find at left strut tower. IT will have some nipples that are not cut on it for you to cut and use. There is no fault code for interrupting it as it is signal that gets grounded by TCM. When not grounded it will be at full 5V value like it is when TCM is not grounding it. Running it to switch on dash allows you control of the extra OOMPH you'll get.

This 12v switch on Amazon.com w/MVS link embedded. More practical than a button, because you'll need both hands fighting that torque steer.

NO, it uses network communication and the torque reduction is in a data stream you can't interrupt.

1998 is the last year.

Will this work on a 94 Volvo turbo wagon. 2.3l with obd1 and obdII. And if so can some one post a picture of the wire, so i no were to wire the switch exactly to? Plus it will be useful for future members! Thank you!
