Do you use Tapatalk on your phone?

Post by matthew1 »

What Is Tapatalk?

It's a way to use the MVS Volvo Forum on your phone or tablet.

From Tapatalk's Web site:
Tapatalk is a mobile app built specifically for forum access. Different from mobile skin or mobile version that comes with the forum system, Tapatalk allows user to have a unified interface to access multiple forums at the same time. With million of Tapatalk users, your forum can be discovered by potential new members thru Tapatalk Network and our ranking and recommendation system.

Do I Like It?

I love it. I'd much rather use it than looking at this forum with the browser on my phone. If you're on a mobile device, I strongly encourage you to spend the $2.99 for this app. Beside Angry Birds, it's the most-used app on my phone.

How Does One Get It?

iPhone/iPad Users -- Tapatalk in the Apple App Store.
Android Users -- Tapatalk in the Android Store.

Who Else Likes It?

As I write this, 2,269 posts have come from MVS users posting from their Tapatalk app.

How Long Has It Been Available?

I installed it here at MVS for 2 or 3 years ago. It requires both a server piece (I take care of this, forget it exists) and you using the mobile app.

... and posting and replying are just as simple. Actually, I'd say uploading photos is easier on phones than the desktop, because of Tapatalk.

Disclaimer: I make $0 from Tapatalk. I had to pay $2.99 like you. I have no agreements with them, outside of clicking the Agree button to install the server software on the MVS server. Never spoken or emailed (a non-automated email) with them.

I rarely post on here from a computer, it's almost always tapatalk. I'd say at least 80% of my forum usage is tapatalk.

Who would have thought ten years ago that we would have stuff like this?

80%? Nice. I'm at probably 10% posting, 50% browsing. In a few ways it's easier than via desktop.

I use it every day. Probably half or more of my posts come from Tapatalk in the morning or afternoon whenever I've got time to check up.

The browser is better than the computer in some ways for small things like this. Smartphones are amazing. Just wish the cell companies were too...

Use it everyday. Not sure whether or not to update it, though.

The previous version to the current one went one step forward by allowing photos to be hosted by Tapatalk or Matthews, then the next version only has Tapatalk hosting and they appear incorrectly sized.

My pleasure. I noticed yesterday if you swipe right or left across a topic, you can "Mark as Read". Saves you the time of going into the topic, then back out.

I switched from crap-berry to an Android and immediately installed TapaTalk. I love it and use it on MVS more than I use my PC.
