Newbie to Matthew's

Post by Reedsram »

Hello to all. Been a big fan of Matthew's for a while now. GREAT resource for all Volvo fixes. I have three Volvo's that I am taking care of First one that started it all is a 2002 s60 base model,176,000 miles. Now my daughter's new old hand me down ride. The replacement is a 2006 xc70 for the wife 97,000 miles (timing belt soon). And the last is a 2001 xc70 157,00 miles for my mother in-law (had to do the tranny though). Having a problem with the 2002 S60 dash cluster and air bag light came on. I will post again soon on that.

As a ASE auto tech I find it great that I can find a sight that helps everyone with a fix or a resolution to a problem. I read some of these posts and find it amazing that the back yard mechanics are taking on these repairs. Some of these DIY's I think... scratch that,I KNOW they are more capable than me at fixing cars. :>)

My hat's off to Matt and all the moderators for a job well done. THANK YOU.. I have fixed a lot of issues with my Volvo's from this site and saved some money doing it. (except the reprogram of the s60 bump shift, dealer only) BUT i found the fix here.

Worked in the car field all my life,(mostly GM and Chrysler) But the 2002 s60 is the first Volvo my wife and I bought, and as they say VOLVO FOR LIFE! Sorry I am hooked. Love them.

Thanks again.

New VOLVO Fan

Reed, welcome. Thanks for the kind words! And it's great to hear your story, how you got hooked on Volvos even though you worked with domestics for years.
