yes, 4 miles from my house. The issue is the stop sign for the runway is not signs, it is "STOP" pained on the ground and it is worn and the pavement is bleached.
Occupants of the Volvo had scattered glass injuries but nothing else.
Lesser windshield post and the result would have been different.

I guess it is more realistic to try to get the car to stop and yield right of way than it is the airplane.

I heard about that in the news (can't watch the video here at work as I don't have Flash).

Had to have scared the heck out of everyone involved.

I saw the raw footage on "The Youtube" last night. I love the female in the XC: "We didn't pull out in front of an airplane!"

Uh, really? You sure you want to go with that story? I mean, there's landing gear in your back seat! Don't think the plane pulled out in front of *you*.

Sounds like there was a male & a female in the car, so I’m guessing there was either an argument going on, or a phone call. Either way, you didn't see the airplane headed straight for you.

A simple posted sign may have avoided this near fatality. Are stop signs painted on roads anywhere else? If they are do they work? I hope the runway managers have a good think about the possibility of this happening again. Human lives are too costly to dance around with.
