ABS Light on Seems to Stall Starting from Stop
I just purchased a 2006 Volvo XC 90. The ABS light goes on. The vehicle also when starting from a stopped position, you depress the gas pedal it seem to stall, but the engine isn't sputtering. The after slowly moving for about 1/2 block it starts to run normal. the problem doesn't always happen. I am told this a ABS wheel speed sensor. Does this sound right? If not what should look at? How would I determine if it is a front or rear sensor and which side?

Sounds like wheel speed sensor could be triggering traction control.
You have to get fault codes read using VIDA or Autologic. Throwing parts at this will be more expensive than knowing which sensor the ABS module has issues with.

So to start this process I have ordered a VAG-Com cable and down loaded Vol-FCR.1.3.6 software. Thinking exactly the same way. It was suggested that VAG-Com and the software should locate the problem. Is that correct? Will it tell if I have sensor issue and which one or ABS module problem? I have also seen the Volvo DICE cable and software on Ebay. Im a DIY type person, typically work on American Cars. I am just starting to get into the Volvo, the design is different, but I like so far...
