vibrating gas pedal/funny engine sound

Post by Rich3549 »

I posted this message on volvoforum.com and have not received any replies. Hoping to find some help...

Hi,

I have a 2001 S60 with 40K miles. I have had the EFT cleaned and reprogrammed and the transimission reprogramed lately. Both seemed to help my drive.

However, when I accelerate I still feel the gas pedel viberate (a buzz type of vibration), car feel slugish (intermittent), and sometimes (especially, when outside temperture is >80 degress) the engine makes a rough exhaust sound when at around 2K rpm going about 18 mph (like I have a hole in the muffler or a modified racer exhaust). The rough sound goes away after the car has been driven for about five minutes, but the pedal buzz continues and is constant when I accerlerate.

Also, when I start the car in cold mornings, it idles at 1.5K for about five minutes before going back to its normal idle at 800 rpm

I don't know if these problems are related or not. I was hoping recoding the EFT would have solved these problems, but they still exist.

Thanks!
