S80 warning light
S80 warning light
Hello, I just purchased a 1999 Volvo S80 T6 from my brother in law. I thought we were friends and now I am not so sure! I have replaced the brake booster and the electronic trottle module and I still have a service light on. My code scanner tells me there are no codes present, however the service light remains on. I have read on the posts how to get a code on the dash of the car and it tells me I have a code 77. I have not taken the car down and had it reprogrammed after I put in the ETM. Is this reprogramming something that has to be done and is this the reason I am getting a service error? I have disconnected the battery and tried to clear the service light but it just comes on again as soon as I start the car. I have read on some of the posts that there are certain service warning that require a trip to the dealer and I am hoping this is not one of them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jeff

Is is a Service Light, or check engine? Service light means just that. A reccomended service interval, oil change or whatnot. There are instructions on how to reset the service interval.
