I wonder if the gasket was done in the past but the threads weren't cleaned sufficiently. I think I have reinz in my car. Meh

UPDATE: I dropped the head off to a so called machine shop and did not hear back from them. So I called them today and I do not like the customer service that they are giving me. I asked what’s going on and the guy looked it up and said his machine shop guy had a laundry list of things I need but I would have to come in for them to go over it... SOB!! I asked can you just go over it on the phone so I will know where I am at and he says all I can tell you is he did not find any cracks but some things are going on with the valve seats and or valves, but you will need to come in for the whole story.. SOB!! None the less I will drive there and see what’s up... If they pull any bull crap again I will take my head somewhere else after I get all the things listed, and pay them for the inspection... I just don’t like A holes that seem too busy to just communicate what’s going on and save me a 10 mile trip when I can say pull the trigger on the work over the phone...I’m guessing Ill need a valve job and a shave but we will see.
I wanted to hear from those that may know, what are the best brands for the HG kit, the best sealant for the cam cover, and the same for a timing belt and water pump... Also would a reman water pump last?? Or go new??
Suggestions please.. Thanks

So I just got back from the machine shop.. apparently they told me I had to come in as a ploy not to get stuck with a bad head.. I guess the have told ppl tht their head was bad on the phone and the customer never showed to pay inspection fee or pick iPhone the head.. Anyway my head was not cracked but warped up to .030.. which is way too far..
Looking for a head now.. if I can't find one I'll be getting a motor soon..
