I recently went through this on my s80. I first had my battery checked at Advance. Battery tested good. I checked voltage output and it was 11.6. I put in a new regulator and problems went away. The brushes were worn down when I compared them to the replacement. I got the part through International Auto Parts. Mileage on the car was 127K.

Low system voltage will give you all kinds of errors that can be fixed just by restoring proper system voltage. The voltage regulator is a serviceable part on your alternator.

You can do the whole voltage regulator in place too, see https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums ... =9&t=51058
