ABS, CHECK ENGINE WARNINGS

Post by simplicius »

Hello,

Last week I saw that my ABS light went on for couple minutes, my odometer started to freak out, my signal lights went off while driving etc. It comes and goes away. A few days ago my CHECK ENGINE light also went on and it's not shutting down. Car still runs well but I'm afraid. I've heard that this might be a problem wit ABS/Track sensors or something like that. I would love if someone can give me more info on the thing that is actually going on.
Is it safe to drive this car like that? How much does it cost to fix that problem?

Thanks!

Sounds like a problem similar to mine, read the post just below yours, you'll see what I mean. This site may also be of value here: http://home.earthlink.net/~vicrocha/Vol ... 70_ABS.htm

What worries me the most is CHECK ENGINE light that constantly on. Do you guys think that this comes from ABS module too?

You can get your check engine code read at an autoparts store. Sometimes free or maybe 15-20 bucks. They'll let you know what the code for the check engine light is, a large majority of the time it's the o2 sensor.

When you get your car scanned, it will most likely say you have a bad wheel sensor. Victor Rocha, the guy that fixes the module, said that it is rare for an ABS wheel sensor to go bad. However, it is your ABS module. He does a great job at a reasonable price. Eventually, your cruise control will go out as well as your speedometer. All related to the module.

Volvo wheel sensors rarely go bad, it's ALWAYS the module
