Hi guys, great site

I'm new to Volvos, just got given (yes, free!) a '95 850 GLT with 188km on it.
Seems to be a nice car and it's very comfortable.
About me and stuff... I spin spanners on cars/bikes/anything all day, I'm a motorbike builder/nut and work on rally cars for fun (just completed a 7 day event in an old Mazda RX3 with a 13b JP in it, was a bit of fun throwing spanners at the rusty old thing :D ) I'm a spring chicken, only 23. Highlights of my car ownership? Hmm, I had a '52 Morris Minor, first of the high lights with a side valve powerhouse in it... I had a '73 Rover P6B 3500 to tow a boat I purchased on a whim, lovely car. '73 BMW 520i that I restored, awesome car. And a few other BMWs, multiple boring Jap cars (Celicas, a few Mitsi Galants, on being a rare-ish AMG one, pile of junk.)

I've never owned a Volvo before this one, but I've had 22 (I think) cars and 8 or 9 bikes, so it's nice to try something new. (If only it was an 850R, which may be my next car if this one plays nicely)

This forum has already helped me a heap with some minor niggles this car has, it's nice to have the info on here with unfamiliar cars (I've never owned anything with the stupid spring seat/strut mount system before) and I've managed, with the help of this place, to diagnose broken spring seats (without squeek though...) and strut mounts, so new ones are in the mail. It did a pretty typical plastic rad trick and split all the way around the top on the hot side, so a new rad is on order

Might as well put a pic here of one of the bikes I'm currently building for myself, my ZX6D

And a cute Suzuki GN250 that is currently having a DR600S motor mounted

Thanks for reading my blabber, I hope to contribute here
Cheers, Doug
