Unused plug??? No connector insight?

Unused plug??? No connector insight?
recently i took the center console out of my 850 to replace the gear indicator light bulb and found a yellow plug to the right of the other 2 main plugs. does anyone know what its for?? thanks

There is another lamp in the rear ashtray at the back of the console, but could you be more specific about the area of these "main plugs". Do you mean the harnesses for the master window switches, seat heater/esw switch? There is another pair of wires that run to the shift-lock microswitch. There is also a light in the cigarette lighter, two wires to power to the lighter itself, and an ashtray light.

I've not taken the time to go back through the schematics to figure out what that plug is for but nothing plugs into it on any of my cars.

I've read several posts about that plug, recently someone concluded it was for the rear heated seats. But I've never had a car with anything plugged into it. And I've never had one with rear heated seats, FWIW.

no rear heated seats. Taking a second look at it does have the same five prong connector as the front heated seat. Thanks for the info
