740R engine
740R engine
I have a 740R engine that I received as part of a package trade that I was going to put in a late model 240... Projects are sometimes like food and we take a bit too much on the proverbial plate... Haven't found a good 240 (or an amazon wagon... Lol) so the project is off the burner now and needs to go... Please PM me if you want more details.

I have a reasonably good grasp of motors fitted to 700's but I never heard of a 740R motor.
I've heard of B23/230 (and Turbo variants) being swapped into 740/760's but the reverse is usually complicated becuase of the head mounted distributor.
My 740 GLE Wagon has a B234F twin cam motor, which will be swapped out for a B23T turbo motor. However if I can get me paws on a B204T manifold then I'll just turbo the B234F and save the B23T for my V6 760.
I'm just curious as to what a 740 R is. We in Oz only had the GL GLE and Turbo variants.

Rednecks don't write history, we make it happen.
UNDERSTEER is when you hit the wall forwards.
OVERSTEER is when you hit the wall backwards.
HORSEPOWER is how fast you hit the wall.
TORQUE is how far the wall moves after you hit it.
