Is my abs pump finally failing?
Last week, I replaced my left front caliper and brake hose, as my caliper had frozen, and I figured it was time to change the 13yo brake line just in case as well. This week however, as I'm driving I get this horrid groaning noise I can only assume is from the abs pump, and on occasion, when I brake, it feels as though there is gravel or something halfway through my braking application; almost as if the abs is kinda starting up, then fights, then gives up. I've had no MIL lights come on, and nothing seems amiss other than that, and I can't pull any codes. The car still brakes well. But reading around on here it seems like others have experienced similar issues due to the abs unit, but with accompanying failure lights going off. I've gone in and checked my tone wheels and speed sensors, no problems there either. Am I on the right track in assuming that my abs unit might finally be giving up the ghost? Should I look somewhere else?

You may have messed up the (ABS) wheel sensor when you did the caliper, I would check there first
