Solid wagon with it's issues so please read carefully.
I have been driving this car every day for 6 years and planned on keeping it but was essentially given a newer car.
This is a very unique and cool car: nice bright red color, nice black leather, stickshift, and has the third row in the back for a 7 passenger (for kids) and an integrated booster seat in the middle of the second row. People are always amazed that this car is 19 years old. I just changed the oil.
I installed 4 new tires and new rear brake pads and rotors in April 2012. I also installed a nice Pioneer CD player with an input on the front for your iPod, phone, etc.
The car will come with the dark alloy rims and those tires seen leaning on the car in the picture. I am keeping the snow tires for my newer car.
Trailer hitch installed and trailer light wiring is installed. I towed a small boat exactly twice with this in town. I should have just rented a truck in retrospect!
The odometer is broken at 138k miles. I estimate it has about 150k miles. I can check this by using the computer under the hood. I checked it in April and it was in the 140ks.
There is a shopping cart scratch on the front drivers side near the headlight.
Now for the bad:
The following do not work and I have not even tried to fix them, so it could be easy or hard: AC, cruise control, drivers side seat heater. I never use any of those anyway.
The car has a noise up front that the mechanic told me is the ball joint. He said it would be a few hundred bucks (he always says that!). I was going to do it next time I am in the shop for an oil change or something. Price reflects this.
The exhaust is a little noisy. I had them look at it, and they said it was fine. Some little clamp in the back.
The big issue is the transmission. The synchro ring for 3rd gear failed. This means that it is difficult to get into 3rd. I can do it, but it takes finesse. When getting up to higher speeds I just skip 3rd. Mechanic said he could put in a used transmission or I could just drive it like this indefinitely. If I double clutch, 3rd is not bad. Basically, if you are good at driving stick, you can do it.
To replace the transmission is about $1k, but almost all labor, only $300 or so for the parts. So if you know how to do this and have the time, this is a sweet car.
Engine runs well and I think this thing will go for another 100k miles.
