Loose distributor rotor shield

Post by gvanzant1 »

While replacing my distributor cap and rotor last weekend, I noticed the cone-shaped shield (with the o-ring) was fairly loose. In fact, when I installed the old shield with my new cap and rotor (Bosch #03371 and #04272), the shield wanted to fall out. Should this shield be a tight fit? I had a lot of build up in my old cap.
