Disconnected Wiring Harness
Disconnected Wiring Harness
I have a 93 850. I was replacing the thermostat today and while draining the radiatior I noticed an unplugged wiring harness. It's located below the starter and branches off of a cluster of wiring. It looks like it would plug into a sensor but I don't see a sensor in the area. Could it go to the knock sensor? Any ideas?

That is the general area where the knock sensors plug in. Get the wire colors off of the connector and post them back, we can figure it out.
Most of the wires have a main color and a stripe, be sure to get both colors for each wire.

I can't find anything on the '95 schematics that would mate up so it may be one of those "93 things". The '93s had an oil level sensor that the later years didn't have and it would have likely been in that general area. From '94 and on they went to an oil pressure sensor and it has a single brown/black wire.

Thanks for the help. I'll look into it. My cel is not on and I don't have any related codes so that's good. I'm just glad you don't think it's the knock sensors. I'll check my local yard and see if that helps. Thanks again.Ozark Lee wrote:I can't find anything on the '95 schematics that would mate up so it may be one of those "93 things". So I checked a 93 850 at the yard and it had the oil level sensor on the front of the oil pan. Mine does not have the oil level sensor, just a loose harness. Thanks Lee for pointing me in the right direction.
