I thought I read "Denso wires." The collective wisdom on this board seems to be Bougicord wires only -- others will tend to give problems. Using other than OEM ignition components on these cars can give problems.

Ok, so new wires are added to the mix. And what is the best method of cleaning the cam sensor without damaging it. Should I use MAF cleaner or carb cleaner or something completely different? Thank you everyone again for your help and support.
So the misfire was caused by the cam seal behind the distributor. Cap was full of oil and cam seal peices. All replaced plus new plugs and coil. Now off to replace PCV. Dipstick tube IS smoking. Thanks for everybody's help.
