Bought A Used 2001 S60 T5, maintanance questions.

I am new to the forums and would like to introduce my self by saying Hello. I have recently purchased a: 2001 S60 T5 with a manual transmission and my questions are as follows:

The reliability rating of this particualr model and year, some feedback if possible.

What preamptive maintance should I perform on the car once it is in the garage. (It's being shipped to me, so hopefully by the end of the week I will recieve it).

Recommendations on fluids and oils(types and brands).

Our family is a Volvo die hard family and we curently own 2 other volvos, but being the "DIY" guy in the family in regards to cars, the models of Volvosf starting with the year 2001 are a completely new breed of animal. I ripped apart my S70 that was sold, numerous times and it is very straight forward; not so much with the 2002 V70 X/C. This being the first time owning a S60 T5 and manual at that, any advice or suggestion is welcome. Also how hard is it to learn to drive a S60 with a manual transmission (I never actually drove a stick shift before, so it will be a completely new experience for me).

The two major issues with 2001's are the auto tranny, and the etm

But yours is manual, which is great. So just the etm is all u would worry about, and in saying that i never had an issue with the etm in my 01 xc.

Thank you for the info, would you happen to know the ball par amount in $, that it would cost to fix the ETM in case it goes bad?

$900 or so for a Volvo ETM
$500 or so for a permanent XeMODex

Got the car tonight, and it has a dimmed bulb issue, with a sunroof that will not open. I replaced all the bulbs including the taillights and the license plate bulbs, still an issue. Anybody know if there is a way to disable the message so I can register and inspect the car (also the weather has not been kind, it's -5F and -18.8C in upstate NY. I will trouble shoot when it is warmer.)?
