i have a 94 850. the heater core is hot, blower is working, but no heat. any suggestions

i just discovered that plastic arm on the blend door behind the glove box is broke. does that control all the heat that passes through the car?

Chances are that you have the blend vent next to the cluster open. That makes the upper vents blow cool air in.

The door directly to the left of the glovebox is the recirculate door flap.

It's possible that you have a broken damper elsewhere in the system too, however.

Check the codes via the OBDI port and it should flash out any malfunctions with blend doors, etc.

i think that the ones by the heater core are not working either. i read a post by ozark lee and i cant hear doors moving when i change the position. is there anything showing what that looks like and what to do? its nine degrees outside...

From Ozark Lee:

The blend doors are easy on both sides, just remove the lower dash panel and the stiffener board behind the carpet and they are right there. Things get tougher if you have a split shaft but there are a number of fixes for that from thin gauge copper wire wrapped around the shaft to a 40 magnum (I think - I can't remember the exact caliber) shell casing tapped on around it. It is all in the repair database.

I believe you said you already know how to get to the heater core, but let me know if you need more clarification on that part and I'll be glad to find the writeup.

Cables, eh? I'm guessing you have the manual climate control then rather than numbers on the dials?
