Introducing Myself...

Post by ferrari9 »

Hello All. I wanted to introduce myself. I joined the forum about a month or so ago. In that time I've aquired a wonderful wealth of knowledge and would like to thank everyone who has already helped me.

I live in Connecticut, in the northeast region of the US, and just bought my first Volvo back in May. It's a beautiful 1995 854 Turbo with 140+k miles. Black exterior paint with a red pinstripe at the shoulder line and Tan Leather interior. The car is fully loaded and has a set of Columbia 16" alloys. I absolutely love every aspect of this car and plan on driving it straight into the ground! I still can't believe how fast this car is stock. Most of my friends made fun of me for buying a Volvo until they got to ride in it. Now they're all jealous...

I grew up in a Volvo family and have always been a HUGE car nut but for some reason Volvo flew a bit below the radar for me until I layed my eyes on a Black 2004 V70 R in 2004. I've been hooked ever since and despite my love of everything German (my previous marque of choice was Audi) I will forever be a Volvo guy.

I just installed an R type front spoiler and love the way it looks. I plan on doing many more "improvements" on the car - even though it really doesn't need any help  !

I was extremely lucky to get my hands on this car - my gf's mother bought it back in '98 and drove it until October of '05 when the radiator went bad. In the meantime, she decided to buy a 2004 S60 AWD and sold me the 850 for way less than it was worth - thanks mom!! This was even after she paid to have the radiator fixed.

Anyway, didn't mean to write a book... Just wanted to say hi and tell you all a little about myself. I look forward to being a part of this community and hope I can repay by helping others in the future.
