Good evening everyone, I was hoping someone could help me. I recently purchase a 2000 S80 as a fixer-upper to later be used as a daily driver so I can park my truck for some better gas mileage. When I first got it it appeared to be experienced the "RPM hunt" with idle surging up and down and up and down once the car warmed up. I removed the throttle body (ETM) and gave it a thorough cleaning which seems to have fixed the problem.

However today, I got a check engine light and took it to the nearest Autozone to have the codes read. It came back with the 4 codes below.

P0174 - System too lean bank 2
P0300 - random multiple misfire detected
P1181 - O2 sensor signal circuit slow switching rich to lean bank 2 sensor
P1153 - O2 sensor high voltage bank 2 sensor 1

Before I start throwing away money on parts, I figured I would ask to see if anyone could point me in the direction of things to look at that might set these codes. Your time and help is appreciated.

How well does it run? sounds like a fuel delivery problem I would start with replacing the filter and running some injector cleaner through it.

Since I got it it ran great until it hit the "idle hunting". After removing the ETM, it ran even better and the idle hunting symptom went away. after the car is warmed up a while it beings to idle rough and throw the codes. When the symptoms occur the car seems to shudder and the exhaust begins to smell like eggs. But then the symptoms go away and the engine idle levels out, and the car runs fine again. It's like the symptoms go away and them come back.

I was able to have the codes read when the car was experience the symptoms and the codes in my original post came up. However when the car isn't idling funny it runs great.

get some MAF cleaner and clean your mass air flow sensor....solves a lot of idle issues...and is simple to atleast try and go from there.

Thank you for the suggestion, I removed the MAF sensor and cleaned it thoroughly with cleaner and also cleaned the airbox while I was at it. Put everything back together, cleared the CEL codes, and it ran like top, drove it around and had no problems and the CEL never came back. Thank you!

Now if I could only figure out how to get the sunroof opening again. I'm getting the "Alarm System Requires Service" indicator. Any ideas?

this happened to me.....so while sitting in the car I pushed the unlock button on the key and it allowed my sunroof to work again. worth a try.

I'm getting the "Alarm System Requires Service"
With that DIM Message the U/L/U reset is only temporary. You will eventually end up having to replace your alarm siren (or maybe even repair if it is not FUBAR).

Since you are dealing with a teenager (2000 S80), I would lean towards replacement

What is the exact procedure for the U/L/U reset. I would like to try it. Or is there another way to check the alarm siren to see if that is the cause?

U/L/U = Unlock/Lock/Unlock
This trick can be done either with the remote or with the key in the driver door lock and will synchronize the UEM and re-enable lost functionality until the alarm siren's sick module knocks it off-line again soon.

The sirens are known to last for 8-10 years depending on climate. Their internal battery leaks and kills the electronic board.
If you read the car with VIDA you will see stored UEM communication codes that will not turn the MIL, but only trigger DIM messages. UEM= Upper Electronic Module, (it is in the mirror) responsible for sunroof control and other functions.

Search the Forums; there are nice DIY writeups if you feel like saving a couple hundred bucks.
If you have more money than time, then you could pay about $500 + change to the stealership to get that sorted.
