I have a 2000 S80 T6
A few months back, I noticed some bad clunking under my passenger side and popped off the tire to inspect. I noticed my CV boot is toast and figured I'd replace the axle since they're cheap (aftermarket).
I see that there are two different axles. How do I know which is which?
Also, how do I know if my spring seats are bad? I see they're one of the most popular items sold by IPD and FCP so I thought maybe I'd replace them while my car is under the knife. Is the only way to know by pulling off the strut?
With or without viscous clutch axle?

You cant miss the viscous if you take a look underneath. It's a huge cylindrical piece of metal between the transmission and the bearing support on the passenger side driveshaft.
If you can turn the center nut on the strut(s) with relative ease by hand then the spring seats are probably due.
